Complex Care
Also known as long-term care or continuing care, Complex Care is a specialist support for someone with a chronic or long-term health condition, who requires additional assistance to manage their symptoms and day-to-day activities. Clients receiving this type of care have substantial and ongoing healthcare needs. These could be the result of chronic illness, disabilities or following hospital treatment. The aim of complex care is to provide support around the individual’s needs and enable them to retain their independence as much as possible.
This type of care differs from general domiciliary care, as it often involves tasks that would need specialist training. As well as this, working alongside nurses and clinicians that specialise in the individual’s particular condition. So, complex care can include any condition that requires clinical support. These conditions could include brain damage, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, ventilators, Gastrostomy feed needs (such as PEG), Epilepsy, and learning disabilities.
We will always put you at the centre of your care and support plan. The care you receive completely revolves around you and your personal care needs, lifestyle, likes and interests. We build it with instruction that you provide us on how you'd like your care to be delivered. So, we will discuss the options available and help you choose a carer you feel most comfortable with. Because we cover the whole range of flexible home care options, your support can easily grow and lessen if or when your needs change.
